[See: one rainbow pegasus wearing a pair of aviator goggles and standing... well, given the white fluffy stuff around her, it can only be assumed she's on a cloud somewhere. But given the trees behind her, it can't be too high above the ground.

I know this place is full of fighters and all, but are there any athletes hanging around? I'm talking people who're into stuff like sports. Racing. Excitement. Not to mention competition.

See, it's fine keeping myself busy with some solo challenges, and there's no way I'm gonna stop working on my stunts, but I figure it'd be good to have some more variety. Plus, there could be some kind of super cool sport we don't even have in Equestria.

...Which means you should totally tell me if there is. Stuff like soccer, tennis, and hang gliding? I've already tried all of the above. I want something a bit more exciting than that.

[Hm, is there something she's forgoten? Oh, right.]

And if you see a purple pony with wings and a horn hanging around, that's Twilight. Try not to stare too hard if you see her; it gets old fast, and she's still adjusting.

You've never heard of hang gliding? You are so missing out!

[Granted, she's totally cool with just flying, but hang gliding does have its perks.]

So, basically, you take a Hang Glider-- it's built to have wings that catch the breeze, and it goes over the top of you. Then all you've gotta do is hang onto the frame, kick off, and let the wind carry you. You steer it by moving your body around-- turns, stuff like that.

So you're flying by using this hang glider instead of wings? That sounds kind of scary, but... it sounds like fun too. I've always wanted to be able to fly.

Do you think we could build one here?

Ah, well, new arrivals, that I can understand, being one myself! Thank you for pointing out the relevance of wings and a horn, I wouldn't have known at all I was possibly going to one day interact with royalty!

Ah, as for your other ... difficulty with looking for things to do in a sportly manner, have you tried polo? Given your penchant for flight, perhaps a way could be found to play it while airborne, there are a few others about who can also fly I believe, maybe they would be interested!

[At the hot springs? It must have been pretty warm, exercising in the already-hot water. Dash must be pretty resilient.]

When the weather is warmer, it might be sort of fun to swim together, if you'd like.

You don't need to grab me, Rainbow. I can fly myself. I have wings now, remember? [ She opens them to show her. ]

But I'd really appreciate some tips from Equestria's fastest flyer! I'm at the library. [ Of course she is. ] Come on by whenever you're ready and I'll join you. I'll read up on flying in the meantime.

[Volleyball can get pretty intense when you go all out. Now where to do this? The battle dome seems like the best place since its not really volleyball weather.]

How does meeting at the battle dome in twenty minutes sound?

[Rainbow Dash. Teddy had seen her around the village sometimes, but actually getting to talk to her was another thing entirely. And sports, omg. He definitely needed something like this after such a cruddy weekend, and there aren't enough people who are into sports.]

I know a few sports, but you've probably played them already. Basketball, football, baseball...

We can change up the rules if you want, though.

[Oh, Dash, you had her at racing. She didn't hear anything else after that.]

Dunno about bein' an athlete, but racing's totally my thing. I'm a winner and everythin'!

Air polo does sound pretty sweet! I've kinda lost tabs on how many people around her can fly, though. Twilight's an easy one, and I know there's gotta be at least a few others...

I'm sure if you simply asked, all those who can fly would quickly volunteer! I would myself but for a lack of airborne capability and .... well, I'm not so good at sports either. B-but it's the thought, surely.

[She's still not good at that sort of effortless way of working a crowd, of enjoying large gatherings; but she likes the chances she has to be part of them. It doesn't take long before she's quick to assure Rainbow Dash that she'd like it.]

As soon as it's warm enough, I think a lot of people would enjoy that. We can make it sort of a party, if we have music, too.

[Hopefully Rainbow won't be there too soon. He needs all of those twenty minutes to get there and figure out how the heck he's going to simulate a volleyball net and a ball. Why couldn't someone have made a volleyball scenario for him to pick.

Chances are he'll still be poking through all the options and muttering to himself after those twenty minutes have passed. Sigh, technology.]

Me neither. That seems like the kind of thing you would have to know a lot about to be able to build right.

[She definitely seems more coordinated than any horse he's ever seen. Wait, she said she's a pony. Should he think of her as a pony instead? ~~Would it be politically incorrect to call her a horse?~~ Wait, pegasus? So many questions... he decides to just dodge around it.]

[And then she talks about her mean pitching arm and he can't resist.]

Oh? [He grins, looking pretty impressed with himself.] I'm sure I could handle it, if you want to try. [His antagonizing is lighthearted. He enjoys being competitive and none of his friends seem interested in playing catch with him, so this is a dream!]

Yeah, the thought's what really counts, I guess. Still, I've got a feeling that dragon's not the sporty type, so I can probably scratch him off the list.
