[Early in the day, people throughout the village might spot a suspicious rainbow streak jetting upwards into the sky. Higher and higher and higher she flies... Until, suddenly, that rainbow streak is rapidly plummeting down, faster and faster until there's a resounding CRASH!

Oh, was that your house she bumped into? Maybe your garden? Business? Whatever the case, there will be a few of these ridiculous crashes until Rainbow, being the stubborn pegasus that she is, moves onto plan B.

A bit later, something a little strange will appear... a cloud floating around the village. Now, seeing clouds in the sky isn't all that abnormal. Just another part of everyday weather.

But what about clouds that float ridiculously close to rooftops? Clouds that hover suspiciously over buildings, people, and are isolated from the others? Tiny clouds that, if one looks close enough, they may catch a bit of a rainbow fringe, sometimes a pair of binoculars, over the edge of the fluffy white stuff.

That's right. This cloud is spying on you strange people. ...Or whatever's up in the cloud, anyway.

[The mermaid immediately pushes her wheelchair backwards so quickly that she forces it off balance, knocking it over. She hits the ground with a thud, but her mind is totally concentrated on the rainbow that clearly just tried to attack her.]

Ahh!! The sky is attacking!!

Oof...

[A couple of twigs and broken branches fall to the ground, followed by a winged, colorful pony... who promptly shakes the rest of the leaves off. Guh, stupid barrier.

And it's about that time she notices Keimi. ...Well, that's one strange looking... thing. But nevermind that. Looks like somebody just fell over.]

What happened to you?

[This is absolutely terrible the Malnosso have gotten strong enough to control the sky and everything is going to be terrible from now on and how could something like this so horrible happen and--

Oh.

What a pretty horse.]

Some kind of crazy rainbow fell out of the sky. Running away from it didn't work out so well. [She smiles lightly, scratching the back of her head.]

[Crazy? Maybe a little, but she had a good reason for it!]

Hey, it's not my fault there's some kinda weird bubble up there.

[Blink. Blink.]

Oh! That was you? That was really pretty, until you fell.

But... yeah. There's a barrier up there. There's one at the bottom of the ocean too. [She's tried.]

I didn't plan on falling. I thought I could bust through that thing if I picked up enough speed.

[Huff. Darn it, so much for her pride.]

Is there really no way to get past it?

[Pride is overrated, Rainbow Dash.]

None that any of us have found. People have tried attacking it with weapons and magic and everything else you can think of. So far, none of it has worked.

Magic? So there are unicorns here?

[...yep. First thing that comes to mind.]

Unicorns...? Nope. Not that I know of. [Not that she's entirely sure what a unicorn is, but she'll play along.] Lots of people here can use magic. It's funny. I didn't even know magic was real until I came here. Some of the stuff they can do is really cool.

Magic's all over the place in Equestria. It's what all the unicorn ponies do.

[She does what looks like a shrug... which probably looks odd on a four-legged animal.]

So you're saying that people like you can use magic. [That's new. How do they do it without horns?]

Well, not like me, but some humans can, somehow. I guess it comes from something special about their home worlds.

People here come from different worlds?

[Buh. That's... new.]

Yeah. It was pretty weird to me too, when I first came here. I guess you're a New Feather then?

I'm new, anyway.

[New Feather must be some kinda lingo here... Huh.]

[She can't help but feel like she's upset the poor pony.]

It's not all bad here. I promise. A lot of the people here are really nice! Plus, you got totally lucky. The Moss-o's gave you such pretty wings!

[She flaps her normal wings again.]

I've always had 'em. The wings they 'gave' me are a lot smaller.

[Here, she'll turn around to show the standard Luceti set. The same set of wings that just doesn't look right on a pegasus.]

Oh, wow! You already had wings? So you're some kind of... flying... horse? That's really cool!

[Ah, what a lovely opportunity to toot her own horn.]

Yep! I'm a pegasus pony, and flying's not all I can do.

Really? What else can you do?

Move the clouds, clear the clouds. I can make it rain or snow-- basically anything to do with the weather. Plus, I'm Equestria's fastest flyer and top athlete.

You can change the weather? I thought only Nami-chin could do that, but she has to use tools to help her. I've never met anyone who can do it on their own!

Every pegasus pony can do it. It's part of our job, just like the earth care for the plants and animals.

So there are other kinds of ponies where you come from too...?

[Blink.]

Do you have... um... merfolk ponies, in your world?

Depends on what merfolk are, but I don't think so.

[Then again, it's not like she knows everything about Equestria. Maybe there's some kinda weird, obscure breed of ponies... kinda like Zecora. Except she's a Zebra.]

They'd... kind of look like me? I'm a mermaid. The only one in Luceti.
